Minimum Requirements: Master’s Degree in Physical/Biological Science and four (4) years of relevant experience. Knowledge of TPIO projects preferred.
Sample responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support TPIO strategic communication initiatives that serve to build cross-NOAA.
  • Understand TPIO’s roles and capabilities: webpage development and maintenance, the development of tailored communication products, analysis tools, datasets, papers, and briefings for a variety of users and stakeholders, and preparation of materials for workshops, conferences, and other external forums.
  • Support to the NOAA Observing Systems Council (NOSC) as the Executive secretary by managing all meeting activities including: preparation of agendas, pre-briefs to senior leadership, meeting planning, organization and support, and preparation, coordination, and tracking of action items and meeting minutes.
  • Assemble and serve on Independent Review Teams (IRT) consisting of a Core group of four to ten individuals including the team leader. This core group will be augmented with specific technical, cost and/or programmatic expertise as required. To the extent possible, continuity of review panel membership will be maintained from review to review throughout the life cycle of the program/ The core group will be comprised of individuals with extensive program management and relevant technical experience.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, and other technological resources within the organization.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation skills.
  • Should be knowledgeable and support NOAA activities with United States Group on Earth Observations (USGEO).
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
